Talking to your team about treatment

You may have questions as you consider treatment options, like VOTRIENT® (pazopanib) tablets, for advanced renal cell cancer. It may be hard to know how all of the information you’ve gathered applies to your diagnosis. That’s why working with your health care team to make decisions is so important.

When you talk with your health care provider about possible treatments for advanced renal cell cancer (advanced kidney cancer), you may discuss some of the following:

In some cases, a medicine that was working to treat a patient’s cancer may stop working. This is called treatment resistance. If this happens, your health care provider will talk with you about other treatment options to be considered. Every patient’s experience with treatment is different.

Some patients may see a decrease in the number of cancer cells in their body. Some patients may not see these results, but instead will have long periods of “stable” disease. This means that the cancer in their body is neither growing nor shrinking.

Keep in mind that you are never alone in your care. Your health care team will partner with you to find a treatment plan that works best for you. They are there to support you every step of the way.
